Master Class 31st March 2012

Saturday 31st March saw the launch of the 'Master Class' series of meetings. This is a new idea which you will have no doubt read about in the monthly newsletter. The meeting was held in the McNiece room giving wonderful views over some of the wildfowl lakes to be enjoyed during the breaks.
This first class was given by Ian Chappell and focused on painting carvings with an airbrush. It was well supported with eight members and one visitor attending, with Ian choosing as his model a Green Woodpecker. The finished carving and intermediary steps are displayed in the slide show below.
I think it is fair to say this was a very successful meeting and thanks to Ian for his time, effort and generosity in sharing his knowledge and techniques; it was very much appreciated by us all. Thanks must also go to Roger who organised the venue and ensured we were all able to see what was being done at any particular time by setting up a projector, camera and laptop and displaying Ian's actions onto a big screen.
